  29. Introduction

  31. ImageDesk is a program to catalog picture directories by generating small
  32. representants of the pictures, so called thumbnails. Those thumbnails are
  33. internally being expanded to objects which will include all essential
  34. attributes of the represented pictures. Several thumbnail objects which
  35. corresponding pictures are in the same directory, could be saved together
  36. into a catalog file for being available immediately on request. These files
  37. could be saved packed, too provided XPK has been installed. The following
  38. picture formats are currently supported and will be recognized
  39. automatically:

  52. The corresponding picture of a thumbnail object could be shown if
  53. requested. Therefore two internal viewers, the window- and the screen
  54. viewer, exists for each above mentioned format. The latter are able to view
  55. Images on @emph{CyberGraphics-}, @emph{Picasso-} or standard 8 bit screens,
  56. but it is also possible to specify external viewers or AREXX programs which
  57. ImageDesk will call on demand.
